THE SNAKEFLY
LYCAEDIDAE SQUAMATA
The Lycaenidae Squamata (or Snakefly) traditionally call the deep jungles of Western Africa home. Often found in swarms of up to two hundred adults, locals refer to these creatures as “the winged nightmare”. Although frightening to witness, the Snakefly is harmless to humans and subsist mainly on the hopes and dreams of sleeping children.
Of course none of this is true but wouldn’t it be super scary if it was? Either way, we think Snakeflies look cool.
